My favorite of the Solati siblings is
back again with a new CD. I have always
loved Shahram Solati, ever since I first
heard his EPIC Bareh Va Gorg song from
the Shaahgol album with Ebi and
Shahrokh. What a voice! Every time I
hear him sing, I get goosebumps. I am so
glad he made a huge comeback with his
Haaliteh album. I felt he was often
underrated as an artist, but he is
fantastic and deserves a lot of credit
for his contributions to the Iranian
music scene.
Shahram Solati
is back after only 1 year since the
release of his Ghassam album with
another great collection of tracks,
packaged together as his Parvaaz album.
Even though there is only a year gap in
time, I feel this album is a great
combination of styles, fantastic lyrics,
and powerful and stronger productions.
This is the Solati we all know and love.
Composed of 11 tracks, this collection
ranks as some of his strongest yet.
1. Tamoomesh Mikoni is a
great way to start off the CD. I have
always been a HUGE fan of his ballads
(which were lacking in his past few
releases – opting to go for a much more
fun and upbeat approach to the albums).
Now, Solati is back to form with a
killer ballad that just picks you up and
carries you. You get lost in his voice,
just sublime.
2. Aahaay Golam
is a great upbeat track. The production
is absolutely fantastic. The chorus is
where the song just picks up and doesn’t
stop. The music and his voice are just
perfect and his high notes in the middle
of the song show he has excellent vocal
control (in my opinion the better
vocalist of the brother/sister pair).
3. Goleh Goldoon is another
typical gheraki song. Nothing special
here, but it does have a nice sort of
old school vibe to it. Very reminiscent
of his older work in the 90s. I love the
chorus area, just a very good upbeat
song that will get you dancing.
4. Elaahi Ghorboonet Beram is one
of my favorite tracks on the album. Kind
of a mix between a bandari track and an
afghan song. Very cool combo of the
styles. Such a fun and carefree song.
This piece always manages to bring me
out of whatever mood I am in. I love the
chorus part and its just a great track
overall.
5. Shabeh Raghs is a
very interesting song. Kind of a mix
between an Arabic/Kordi paced song. Very
close to Shaahkaar by Jamshid. Very good
dance floor filler song and I like the
bilingualism in the chorus.
6. Parvaaz is the title song of the
CD and it starts off with a beautiful
orchestral and flute composed intro.
This is why I have always loved his
ballads. It just seems like the best is
saved for his slower songs. The emotion
and power in his voice just carry you
away. Beautiful.
7. Har Kasi
Jaayeh Man Bood is a great techno piece.
It’s such a strong song and it just gets
you moving. I love the structure of the
song and the music is very well produced
with a touch of classic techno elements.
8. Khodaa Hefzet Koneh is
another great ballad. It seems that
Solati has decided to give us ballad
fans a bit of a present on this album.
This track is another good song that
tugs at your heart and your emotions.
Very powerful vocals on this song, the
chorus is very whimsical and just a very
loving song.
9. Moshkeleh
Pasand is another upbeat song with a
very cool intro with the electric sounds
and the overall structure is very gheri.
Very cool use of newer musical elements
throughout its structure. Great dance
song.
10. Atreh Tanet starts
off with very powerful dudak
instrumentals. Then the song transforms
into a semi-ballad, semi-mellow track
with a lot of good instrumental use
throughout.
11. Iran Iran is
a very upbeat and powerful political
song (actually a cover of Maziar’s epic
Iran Iran song) to round off the whole
collection. Great way to end the album
and leaves you on a very strong note.
Long live Iran.
This album is
absolutely brilliant. I loved it from
beginning to end. There is not a single
song that I skip, even though I am more
partial to the ballads than the other
gherier songs. I cannot wait for the
next Solati album installment. I hope it
is just as, if not even better than the
work he’s brought us on this album.
