Persepolis-Esteghlal Derby Ends In Draw

The 63rd derby between Persepolis and Esteghlal ended in a 1-1 stalemate in Tehran on Sunday in front of some 100,000 die hard fans at Azadi stadium. Esteghlal seized the initiative in the second half and took the lead through Omid Ravankhah's 30 yard drive. But with six minutes left, the top scorer of the league, Mohsen Khalili, scored and equalized the match. Persepolis retained the top spot with 21 points and Esteghlal jumped from 12th to 11th slot only 10 points.
