Navid & Omid were born in Tehran (Iran). Their family had to leave their home country due to the war between Iran and Iraq. They went to Los Angeles but later decided to live in Germany. Growing up surrounded by music, their mother, a composer, their father an event manager, always let them take part in their working life.
Navid started performing on stage when he was 8 years old. While he won the first prize in five international dance competitions, his love for music inspired him to write his own lyrics and music with his brother Omid.
Besides his career as a singer he is working as an actor. He was nominated for his performance in the movie "FREMDER FREUND" aka "THE FRIEND" in the category "BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE" at the MUNICH FILM FESTIVAL in 2003.
Omid sings since his childhood. It began with R&B and Soul. He was inspired by R.Kelly, Boyz II Men, Craig David, Joe, LL Cool J & MJ. He also performed in theatrical plays, cause he had fun to get into different caracters. He worked on several songs of their album and composed the music of the tracks ENTEZAR of their first Album FARYAD and on the song BEZAR BEGAM of the album KOLLI SEFARESH.
Navid & Omid's music is a mix between R'n'B/Pop, HipHop-influences added with persian melodies and instruments. Some of their lyrics are a mix between Farsi, English and German. This is the first time that persian music has seen a blend of these sounds.
They had the great chance to perform their remix of EBI's "GORIZ", to which Navid wrote, produced and directed the music-video, with the living legend EBI himself. Getting the opportunity to sing alongside their personal favorite singer EBI was for them a dream come true.
Alex Abedi (Co-Producer of all Navid & Omid Albums) had a big influence on their music. Navid & Omid consider Alex as their brother with whom they work very closely on each and every song. They are happy that they found someone who is extremely creative and fulfills their taste in Music in a unique way.
They started to produce their debut album "FARYAD" ("SCREAM") in 2004. After 3 years of hard work they were happy to release a successful debut in 2007. exactly 2 years later in march 2009 their second album KOLLI SEFARESH (Available here in the RJ-Store!) was released and surprised their fans all around the world.
