It's been about 2 weeks since the rumor (or not) about the Persian version of Jersey Shore has been going around.

The NY Times confirmed yesterday that MTV has nothing to do with this new show but Doron Ofir Casting and 495 Productions, who are the producers of the "original" Jersey Shore are calling for "Outrageous, outspoken and proud Persian-Americans".

While the news has made many young 'actor wannabes' of Iranian descent excited, it also has created some controversy in the community wondering what kind of representation this is going to be. Some argue that showing a young generation of rich Iranians who care about nothing but partying and getting in trouble is nothing special that needs to be shown to millions on TV.
