The Iranian Maestro, Parviz Meshkatian has died of heart failure at the age of 54 in Tehran on September 21, 2009.

This legendary Iranian composer and Santur/Setar Player was the founder of Aref Ensemble in 1977 and also one of the fonding members of Chavosh Artistic and Cultural Foundation.

He had performed many concerts around the world, recorded over 200 pieces of work and published books about Iranian music including 20-Ghate which has been the leading book for Santur performance in the past years.

May his soul rest in peace as his great contributions to the Iranian music industry will always remain amongst us.
