'Iranian Hercules' Retires

According to ISNA, the Iranian weightlifting super star, Hossein Rezazadeh ended his career as a weightlifter today. In his emotional farewell letter, Rezazadeh expressed his regards to his fellow countrymen, and his gratitude to Iranian officials and media.

There have been recent concerns about Rezazadeh's medical condition and his ability to participate in the upcoming Olympic games in China. Rezadeh's retirement is announced while physicians have not let him participate in the Olympic games.

Rezazadeh has scored a total of 11 gold medals (2 in Olympic games and 4 in world championships) and 2 bronze medals in international tournaments. Early in his career, six years ago, Rezazadeh rejected an offer of $10M and a luxury living from Turkish officials. However, his recent appearance on some commercials resulted in some negative comments and limitations.
