Iran's volleyball team is aiming to book a berth in the upcoming Beijing Olympics in the Olympic qualification tournament, which is being held in Tokyo from May 31 to June 8. The team will take part in two warm-up games against Serbia and Egypt prior to the Japan competition.
Iran is scheduled to play Algeria in the opening match on May 31. The team will face Japan, Thailand, Argentina, Italy, South Korea, and Australia in the remaining matches.
According to the chairman of the Volleyball Federation of Iran, the team will most likely qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games if it can defeat Algeria and Japan.
