'Persepolis' Enjoys Weekend U.S. Release

Marjane Satrapi's adapted animated movie, Persepolis, opened in U.S. theaters this past week. Released by Sony Classic Pictures, it is currently playing in 7 theaters, but averaging a high $13,014 per theater (box office source). The movie is a coming-of-age story of a precocious and outspoken young Iranian girl that begins during the Islamic Revolution.

The English version features voices by actor Sean Penn and rocker Iggy Pop. Persepolis has been nominated as Best Foreign Language Film (French) for the 2008 Goldon Globes.

mageh ketabe tarikhiyeh keh nabayad aghideh shakhsisho begeh Niloo jan? har ki az deede khodesh mibineh donyaa ro. I think that is the beauty of Art! Do you think 60 min is telling the truth? whos truth then?! I would love to see your version of Perspolis someday!

i read the book in english and i liked it.vali yekam ziad az had aghidehaye shakhsisho ghaatie ketabesh karde.and it sometimes gives u a false image.
i know they've been working hard to make this movie,all drawings are in pencil va hame chi traditional saakhte shode va too france kheili vaghte kasi hamchin kaari nakarde (this kind of drawing and animation)
i think the movie is really cute as i saw in the trailer.
