More Crack Downs On Persian Rap Continue
The crack downs are continuing as the Iranian government has launched a campaign against rap music calling the lyrical content "obscene" and deeming the genre itself illegal. Police are increasing their efforts to shut down studios that are producing rap and "confronting" the rappers themselves.

The culture ministry official, Mohammad Dashtgoli, was quoted by the official Islamic Republic News Agency, that anyone wanting to record an album or hold a concert needs to get official permission adding that he wants to "find a solution" to the underground Internet distribution of music.
